Ensuring clean water for every child

For over a decade, Lindström has been supporting UNICEF’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) work in India. Every child has a right to clean and safe water, sanitation, and health.

Partnership with UNICEF Finland started in 2007 when Lindström started its operations in India. As one of the leading companies in the field of rental textiles, the use of water in the company’s own laundries is an important topic for the company. In a country like India, where fresh, clean water is a highly valued commodity, Lindström works tirelessly to ensure that it works in a sustainable manner and that no drop is misused.  In addition, treating water as a necessity to be able to offer sustainable choices for its customers, Lindström considers clean water and sanitation to be a key human right to all, regardless of gender and origin.

The partnership supports UN Sustainable Development Goals

Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

Achieve gender equality and empower

all women and girls.

Together, with the collaboration, UNICEF and Lindström aim high. Lindström is joining UNICEF in Sustainable Development Goals area 6 with the ambitious aim of by 2030 achieving universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all, achieve access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all, and end open defecation.

The partnership has shown that long-term collaboration can make a difference.  By supporting a country-wide UNICEF WASH program, Lindström has been part of a bigger change for millions of children in India.
