During the past few days, the crisis in Ukraine and the human suffering it has caused has been the focus of world attention.
Lindström’s primary concern has been the health and safety of our employees in the region. We are in daily contact with our local leadership in the countries of the crisis, especially in Ukraine. In Ukraine, Lindström has service centres in Kyiv and the Dnipro and about 140 employees, almost all of whom are Ukrainian. Currently, our service centre in Kyiv is not operational, while the Dnipro has remained partly in operation to provide textile services to critical functions of society, such as food supply.
We also strive to continue our operations and serve our customers where possible, and we have launched activities to support our business continuity in Ukraine as well as in other countries close by. These measures include, for example, arrangements related to the supply chain, subcontractors, financial operations, monetary transactions as well as energy supply. We will continue to monitor the development of the situation closely and are constantly assessing the need for additional measures.
Lindström is committed to complying with local legislation in all its countries of operation as well as with all sanctions and restrictions associated with the crisis. We always strive to provide all our services locally with minimum cross-border activities.
We hope that peaceful circumstances will be restored to Ukraine and to the whole of Europe as soon as possible and with as little human suffering as possible.
